Helpful Hurricane Helene Resources

As our neighborhood and community are recovering from the recent impacts of Hurricane Helene, HKA have received several helpful resources from our fellow neighbors. We wanted to find a place that we could centrally locate these great resources so that our neighbors can easily reference them.

Henderson County Debris Pickup

As you may see around the neighborhood, debris clean up by the County has begun in Haywood Knolls.  Henderson County started last Wednesday and has contracted with numerous companies to get this hard work done. They will be making more than one pass so you can continue to put out debris.

Several street signs have been damaged or missing. I have reported them to the DOT to replace as soon as possible. If your street has a missing or damaged sign, please contact president@haywoodknolls.org.

Please be sure to put all of your tree, brush and house debris on the easement area in front of your home.  They will not pick up or cut trees/debris that is not on the street edge.

They WILL NOT pick up “bagged debris or leaves” so if you have bagged debris you will need to make your own arrangements with a trash pick up company.

Storm Assistance Information

Here are some FREE resources in Henderson County to help cut/remove trees (volunteers coming have excavators/skid steers etc...) or flood damage (help with de-mudding, removal of drywall damage and removal of damaged home items etc.)

  • Samaritan's Purse - 833-747-1234

  • Carpenter's Hands Ministry (carpentershandsministryNC@gmail.com) - 828-393-7153
Come in person to Mud Creek Baptist Church to sign forms.
403 Rutledge Dr. Hendersonville NC 28793 or sign up at Baptist on Mission:  https://baptistsonmission.org/

  • Upward Christian Fellowship Hurricane Relief    ( www.ucf.cc/helene) - 828-692-2942

All organizations will send out a team leader to see what equipment is needed and how many volunteers are required.  EVERYONE is seen and is taken care of.   These teams also help bring supplies to each home they visit.

Please pass along this information to ANY person you know who needs assistance.   These amazing organizations have saved the community over $300,000 in tree removal alone - they would LOVE to help!
