The Haywood Knolls Association, Inc. is incorporated under the laws of North Carolina as a not-for-profit organization 501(c)(4). The Association’s operations are governed by a community-elected Board of nine Directors, which consists of four Officers, four ‘at large’ Directors, and the Past President of the Association. The Board meets four or more times a year, and all meetings are open to Association members.
Board members serve as volunteers and are not compensated for their service to the Association. The Board sets and follows an annual operating budget and contracts for grounds keeping, insurance, and other services as needed. It is also responsible for identifying and carrying out community improvements and maintaining the common areas of the community.
As a member of the Community Association Institute, the Association follows and urges all members to follow the Institute’s ‘Rights and Responsibilities for Better Communities Principles.’.
